Heritage Monuments of Iowa

A Local Team Dedicated To Preserving Your Heritage

Our Team

Denny Hetzler, Co-Owner

After a 34-year career with HNI, Denny Hetzler found a new calling helping families preserve legacies in stone. As co-owner of Heritage Monuments of Iowa, Denny brings deep expertise and personal care to every step of the memorial process – from layout and design to personally installing each monument by hand. His commitment to craftsmanship and compassionate service sets the tone for everything the company does.

Denny’s roots run deep in the Muscatine area, where his family founded Hetzler Dairy. That strong sense of local connection inspired him to open a community-centered monument business that prioritizes quality, honesty, and affordability. He takes special pride in listening to families’ stories and transforming them into meaningful, one-of-a-kind memorials.

Outside of work, Denny is all about family and community. He’s a proud father and grandfather, a motorcycle enthusiast, and the long-time voice of Wilton High School football – announcing games for more than 25 seasons. Whether he’s riding trails, hosting summer cookouts, or cheering from the volleyball stands, Denny brings the same heart and dedication to life that he brings to his work.

Tom Fitzer, Co-Owner

As co-owner of Heritage Monuments of Iowa, Tom Fitzer brings a personal, heartfelt approach to helping families preserve their legacies in stone. With a focus on sales and custom monument design, Tom works closely with clients to craft meaningful memorials that reflect each loved one’s unique life story.

Tom’s journey into the monument industry began after the loss of his father- a moment that opened his eyes to the need for compassionate, locally rooted service. Drawing from his own experience with grief, he set out to build a company that would support families through one of life’s most difficult chapters, offering honesty, integrity, and personal care at every step.

A proud member of the Wilton community, Tom finds special joy in working with local families – many of whom he knows personally. He believes deeply in tradition, heritage, and creating one-of-a-kind memorials that celebrate what truly matters.

Outside of work, Tom is a family man, a fifth-generation farmer, and an active member of the Wilton School Board. Whether he’s in the field, cheering on his kids at school events, or designing a monument that honors a life well lived, Tom puts his heart into everything he does.
